[Belated] News Round-Up

 

I have several paying projects on the go as well as a vibrant social life.  Blogging has taken a back seat but I still need to vent.  So hear goes!]

I've decided that Israel killed racist, right-wing grifter Charlie Kirk.  Kirk got a lot of money from zionists.  Even though he said stuff like this:

On Oct. 23, 2023, Kirk said: “Jewish donors have been the No. 1 funding mechanism of radical open-border, neoliberal, quasi-Marxist policies, cultural institutions and nonprofits. This is a beast created by secular Jews and now they're coming for Jews, and they're like, 'What on Earth happened?’ And it's not just the colleges. It's the nonprofits, it's the movies, it's Hollywood, it's all of it.”

Then, a couple of weeks later, on Nov. 7, he said: “Jews have been some of the largest funders of cultural Marxist ideas and supporters of those ideas over the last 30 or 40 years. Stop supporting causes that hate you. …Until you cleanse that ideology from the hierarchy in the academic elite of the west, there will not be a safe future. I'm not going to say Israel won't exist, but Israel will be in jeopardy as long as the western children, children of the west, are being taught, with primarily Jewish dollars, subsidizing it, to view everything through oppressor oppressed dynamic.”

They supported him for the same reason that they supported other anti-semitic right-wingers.  It's okay to be anti-semitic as long as you're pro-Israel.  Most of these anti-semites they support are Evangelical Christians.  Part of their shit-for-brains view of the world is that Israel's existence is crucial for bringing about the End Times that will see the Second Coming of their Imaginary Lord n' Saviour Jesus Christ.

I don't know about Kirk, but some right-wingers have been able to rise above their brainwashing and see Israel's descent into nazi-level, racist, genocidal depravity for what it is.  I'm still not a fan of Marjorie Taylor-Greene or Candace Owens but both of them have been able to see the genocide for what it is and to call it out.  On this issue, MTG has shown more courage and honesty than left-wing grifter AOC.  And Candace Owens gave up a paid gig with racist speed-talker Ben Shapiro's "Daily Wire" out of conviction.

Many USA right-wingers have shown themselves heartily sick of the "Forever Wars" launched with bipartisan agreement since 9/11-2001.  Indeed, their voting for Trump has in large part been based on his stated opposition to these stupid wars.  And one reason that Trump is losing support is his cowardly adherence to the war mongering agenda.  Under Trump, and with Israel, the USA has illegally attacked Iran and supposed allay Qatar.  His supporters see him as under genocidal Israel's thumb.

Tucker Carlson has seen which way the wind is blowing and has established himself as an "America-First" isolationist.  This is an easy role for him to play since it is so self-evidently rational to NOT kill hundreds of thousands of people under false pretexts and to spend billions on conflict that could be spent at home.  A policy of "Wars based on lies" becomes an increasingly embarrassing liability because the lies can never stop and the debasement and shameful stupidity just piles up and piles up.  Right-wing commentators on the neoliberal imperialism in Ukraine are having a field day exposing the criminality and bloody delusion of the war-mongers there.

Kirk wanted to join this team.  That's why he had Carlson address his TPUSA rally and then had an anti-genocide comedian debate [and trounce] a zionist shill at the same event.  Both Carlson's speech and the debate were resoundingly applauded by the audience. 

This July, at his TPUSA Student Action Summit, Kirk provided a forum for the right-wing grassroots to vent its fury about Israel’s political hammerlock on the Trump administration. There, speakers from former Fox News stalwarts Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly, to the anti-Zionist Jewish comedian Dave Smith, denounced Israel’s blood-soaked assault on the besieged Gaza Strip, branded Jeffrey Epstein as an Israeli intelligence asset, and openly taunted Zionist billionaires like Bill Ackman for “getting away with scams” despite having “no actual skills.”

Which is not to say that Kirk wasn't a racist and a misogynist who believed that Affirmative Action was an unfair advantage rather than a correction against systemic racism and that abortion should be prohibited regardless of any context.  Israel had already lost the majority of the Democratic Party's supporters and now it was in danger of losing the younger generations of the Republican Party.  The murderous psychopath Naziyahoo felt he had to act.

Relatedly, the United Nations has determined that Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza.

What this means in practical terms is unclear.  The USA can block anything at the Security Council.  The UNGA does have the power to go around the Security Council but it's doubtful that any country wants the conflict with the USA that such a move would entail.  It's just another nail in the coffin for Israel's reputation.  Of course the Israelis responded with self-pitying stupid garbage.

Also relatedly, the nauseating Crystia Freeland, realizing that her demotion from Finance Minister to Minister of Transportation means that she's not going to become prime minister has decided to throw in the towel and serve as Canada's envoy to the nazi government of Ukraine.  This is really touching in that it gives Freeland an opportunity to reconnect (if she'd ever really disconnected) from her Nazi heritage.

Or, perhaps, she's thinking this is a "prestigious" posting, on the "front lines of democracy" that will give added heft to her re-entry into Canadian politics when Mark Carney's kissing of Donald Trump's leaking shit-hole and his government's austerity-on-steroids policies leads to the Liberals' defeat.  

Of course, Ukraine will be defeated, the whole war will be exposed as a shameful waste of blood and treasure, and Freeland (the imbecile) embraces the same pro-oligarch austerity policies as Carney.
