The Face of "Fascism"

I never heard of this Van Jones fellow before I heard about the right-wing screams that brought about his resignation as Obama's "Green-Jobs 'Czar'" so I don't have a helluva lot to say. But apparently Papa Junk is terrified of him:

He writes: "It’s going to take America decades to forget their fascist moment." (emphasis added)

Did the fool even grasp the video? "Fascism" when uttered by the Left tends to refer to an authoritarian mindset, generally in defence of traditions. "Fascism" as understood by the right-wing evidently means government involvement in healthcare and, now, reaching out to young men, black, brown or white, who are facing alienation and feeling anger.

Thanks for the proof that the Left has no idea what fascism is.

Anonymous,

I guess I could have been clearer. When people on the left get sloppy in their use of the term "fascism" that's what it tends to be a shorthand for.

Now that that's out of the way, don't you think that defining "fascism" as the act of reaching out to find out what's troubling young men of any skin colour, to be incredibly preposterous?

I know you do.

Problem is, Thwap, they're not defining fascism that way, and you know it. You just choose to interpret it that way, and that's disingenuous.

Anonymous,

From my post:

He writes: "It’s going to take America decades to forget their fascist moment."

How long was my post? 200-250 words? Did you get lost?

FAUX-News is the biggest most successful cable news network. They and numerous Repugs refer to Obama as "fascist." Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" says much the same thing.

Are you going to pretend that the US right-wing isn't distorting what "fascism" means?

Huh? No, I am not going to "pretend" anything of the sort. I am going to SAY it explicitly: American conservatives do not distort what fascism means. YOU, Thwap, have no idea what it means, and YOU, Thwap, clearly haven't read Jonah Goldberg's book. So, stop referring to it as if you have. It's a study of fascism and the roots of progressivism. YOU, Thwap, just think fascism is that which you find politically unpalatable. How Stalinesque.

And YOU are a blithering idiot if you think your entirely cooked-up-in-your-own-mind feeling that fascism "as understood by the right-wing evidently means government ... reaching out to young men, black, brown or white, who are facing alienation and feeling anger."

Please.

Dipshit,

It's right there in front of you. That, plus your sympathetic reading of Jonah freaking Goldberg, means I don't have to take you seriously.

Your stupidity is up there for everyone to see.

Who are you calling a dipshit, dipshit? "Jonah Freaking Goldberg"! You silly ass! You say that, having not read the book. Only fools make such pronouncements from a position of near perfect ignorance. You have no idea what is in that book.

Why should anyone take YOU seriously when you opine on him or his book?

thwap said...

Oh hahaha! The Jonah Goldberg fan is mad at me!

You haven't really grasped how pathetic and marginal you are, have you?

There's the video, there's the link, there's the quote.

Go away.
