Baseless Biden Impeachment Bullshit

So the Republicans are going through with the theatre of an impeachment process for Biden based on his crackhead son getting jobs based on who his daddy is and using those jobs to secure inside-deals for himself and the rest of the Biden clan.

"Today, the first year of MAGA Republicans' control of the House of Representatives ended just how it started: consumed by chaos and political stunts, with zero record of accomplishing anything for the American people," declared Christina Harvey, executive director of the progressive group Stand Up America.

"Rather than use their positions to improve the lives of everyday Americans, MAGA Republicans in the House are focused on using their power for political revenge," she charged. "That's bad for the American people, and it's a dangerous precedent for our democracy."

Harvey argued that "every second spent on this baseless inquiry is a waste of taxpayer dollars and a dereliction of duty by officials who were elected to represent the real needs of their constituents."

Says a member of a group which spent the entire Trump presidency pushing the bullshit "Russiagate" conspiracy theory.

It's an interesting precedent. The thing about Russiagate is, on one hand, it was a lie. But it was a lie used because, although there were plenty of things you could go after Trump for that he really did do, until he lost the election most of them were just more extreme versions of the stuff everybody else did. They needed to find something to go after him for that didn't violate the gentleman's agreement to let everyone get away with a bit of graft, something that wasn't just business as usual. So instead they found something he didn't actually do, but which everyone agreed would be serious if he actually did it. This of course is deeply unethical, but there's nothing very surprising about that.

The interesting thing about the Biden impeachment is it's the opposite. He did actually do it, there really doesn't seem to be much doubt: He used his influence to get a cushy lucrative job requiring no competence for his useless druggie son. And, OK, that's corruption, and stuff. But if you removed from the Senate and Congress everyone who did something like that, there wouldn't be a lot of them left. So the gentleman's agreement is dead--the Republicans are fighting like they think they can get to a situation where they WIN, and there ARE NO Democrats to do it back to them. Although I guess this isn't as new as I was thinking--I mean, look at the Clinton impeachment, which was for . . . fooling around with an intern?!

Purple Library Guy,

These idiots are so disconnected from reality. Everyone seriously invested in this garbage needs to give their head a shake.

They're all scumbags. So stupid but at the head of such a terrifyingly powerful military.

All I can think to say at the moment is that the Republicans used to wail and moan whenever anyone called G. W. Bush "stupid" because everyone was supposed to respect the office of the president blah, blah, blah.

They'd just spent a good part of the 1990's humiliating the (asshole) Bill Clinton with an inquiry that included testimony about the shape of his penis and how he masturbated into a sink.

With all this crap, "Lewinskygate", "Russiagate", the idiots they elect, the sordid scandals they shriek about, the hypocrisy, ... they seem to be oblivious to the rest of the world watching their insanity and putting it in the context of the MILLIONS of lives around the world either ended or traumatized by the violence they unleash.
