Repugnican shamelessness: From a strength to a weakness

The US Republican Party used to get a lot of political mileage out of their shamelessness. They could lie, contradict themselves, and pursue the most nauseatingly cruel policies while being completely unmoved by justified accusations of hypocrisy as the "Christian values" party.

But now, ... they've gotten to the point where they're unable to recognize that it's over. Uber-hypocrite, Republican water-carrier Rush Limbaugh called US soldiers who disagree with bush II, "phony soldiers." (His mewling protests about "context" notwithstanding.) A US Repugnican Senator who had happily voted to condemn "MoveOn" for its "Petraeus or Betray Us?" ads, has responded to a Democratic attempt at consistency by asking for the US Senate to give Limbaugh a vote of thanks.

The buffoon doesn't realize that Limbaugh's radio audience, as large as it is, constitutes only a minority of the US electorate. Most people despise him.

bush II himself cancelled extending government medical services to not-quite-totally poor children, and announced that the day of his veto was "Child Health Day."

Most Americans want Canada-style public healthcare. The vast majority supported the extension of this S-CHIP program.

The Repugs are going to go down in flames. If the Democratic Party USA continues to disappoint, we might get a left-wing uprising, similar to that sweeping across South America today.

Welcome back Wayne. (You big idiot you.)

I knew my "left-wing uprising" would attract something, though I was honestly surprised when you turned up.

You like to have me read stuff. You can read this:

http://www.epi.org/content.cfm/webfeatures_snapshots_20051102

South Americans trashed the right-wing shithead policies because they failed them, and they couldn't take hopeless poverty, gigantic inequality, and the corruption and violence that comes with all of this.

US Americans [my new term, thank's Miss South Carolina], if they have a left-wing revolution, will finally get the public healthcare, higher minimum wages, and better working conditions (among other things) that the present system denies them.

Tell you what wayne-o: You can have Stephen Harper rule over you and your ilk, and you can buy private health insurance (and get denied coverage) and pay just as much in taxes (maybe more!) than me, and it can all go to armies and the police who can beat you down when you complain, ... but leave us sane folks alone, h'okay?

Dictatorship failed them. Left or Right Dictatorship does not work, it leads to death, death and more death.

It also leads to everyone being poor. The Poor in the US are in general richer than the average folks in your average south american dictatorship.

PS I had a meeting with Mr. Harper this past thursday, and he is doing quite well, glad you thought about him.

"All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those towards whom it is directed will understand it. Therefore, the intellectual level of the propaganda must be lower the larger the number of people who are to be influenced by it."

"Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise."

"Democracy, the deceitful theory that the Jew would insinuate - namely, that theory that all men are created equal."

Adolf Hitler

South America will continue to be a shit hole as will Africa, as long as Dictators rule.

When socialist governments rule people will believe they are in paradise when they are actually in hell. Hitlers words ring true.

PS Alot of working people are not even worth the low or high wages they get.

Wayne,

You are a completely ignorant imbecile.

Who backed the dictatorships of South America? The United States of America.

This is common knowledge to anyone who doesn't have their head stuck deeply in their asshole.

What "left-wing dictatorships" are you talking about? Chavez? Castro?

I really don't have the time to educate you on the simplest basics of Latin American history or political-economy. I simply don't have the time.

Read the link that I provided for you, and address the issue at hand, and spare me with your vague generalities.

"Health insurance industry employment outpacing providers and all-industry growth rates" Is this the one you wanted me to read?

Your link took me to an article on wages, so I checked the archive.

"Who backed the dictatorships of South America? The United States of America." YES. They screwed up, and hundreds or thousands of people died.

I agree with you that the Americans need, more of a Canadian sytle healthcare system.

Rush is a moron and the Christian values thing is old and stupid.

"I knew my "left-wing uprising" would attract something, though I was honestly surprised when you turned up."

My question is WHO would want to live in South America???? Who the hell would want a South America at our border?????

Have you ever been to Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, or Chile?

I have, it is dangerous and it is "common knowledge" that it would suck to live anywhere down there. That is why so many of them try to go to..... the US or Canada.

Great article.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions"

The US always fuck things up.

You're out of your depth.

Wayne,

Glad you liked the article. The South Americans have finally had enough and have rejected the governments that imposed those policies on them.

Now, the problem is that your Stephen Harper wants to bring in failed Washington-based policies here in Canada. That's why he hates public health care and will attack it in degrees the way Paul Martin did.

That is good, as long as they don't choose worse than what they have, for example Chavez. The people believe they are in paradise, just like they do in North Korea.

"Now, the problem is that your Stephen Harper wants to bring in failed Washington-based policies here in Canada. That's why he hates public health care and will attack it in degrees the way Paul Martin did."

At policy meetings, other than trade, Washington or US based policies don't even get mentioned???? Where does the left get these ideas from?????

The CPC does not "hate" public healthcare. The private insurance would just be an addition to make sure, the public system does not collapse.

Does the NDP try and bring failed Russian polices and loves Russian healthcare????

I provided two specific examples of shamelessness. Do you have anything sane to say about them?

I can easily list many more examples of this shamelessness:

New Orleans and Hurrican Katrina

Conditions at Walter Reed

Repug treatment of Clinton judicial appointees vs. their own wailings about Dem treatment of bush II appointees

Mark Foley

Cheney's energy consultations

All wayne did was misinterpret my post as arguing that the US should become like South America, and some incoherent jab about "idiots with a left mind."

I wonder if there are several individual "anonymous" posters who are all equally mentally deficient, or if it's the same stupid person over and over.

wayne,

Wouldn't you rather not have to pay for private health insurance?

Wouldn't you rather get dependable health care from the taxes you already pay?

Because you could, if your moronic hero, Stephen Harper, would simply put the surpluses into medical care, rather than tax-cuts.

I'd have liked Paul Martin to have done that as well.

But he didn't and Harper won't, because they're both assholes, and you're a chump, and people like you, voting for obvious conmen, are endangering the quality of life of people like me, and it pisses me off.

The more the country becomes debt freethe more it helps you.

Instead of paying muti-millions on interest payments, which is a waiste of money, it would go to healthcare.

thwap said...

Yeah, it'll go to healthcare sometime after 2020.

Give me a fucking break.

The goddamned deficit was caused by right-wing assholes [once again wayne, you're team fucks things up for everyone] and the goddamned debt was mostly reduced by economic growth, not Paul Martin's or Stephen Harper's austerity.

Paying the debt down a-la Harper and Martin, is going to bring us down to whatever a couple of years faster than just having zero deficits.

Meanwhile YOU are paying more out of pocket for private health care.

It's so fucked, and it irks me that the people who created this fucking debt now presume to lecture me about paying it back.

You're still a chump, and if you were only hurting yourself I wouldn't care.
