They are authoritarian monsters and a threat to the Canadian way of life.

The willingness to secretly pass an unconstitutional law knowing that there wouldn't be time for a legal challenge to be mounted is a very bad sign. When the Constitution and Charter are viewed as obstacles by a government... I can't even put it into words.

Also, what the heck was with the media's coverage of the G20 summit, or was it the "unoccupied police car is burning" summit... that's about all they showed for a long while? (That was some awesomely-engineered glass, too, given how that guy had to spend all day smashing it in with a brick... as far as I know, anyway, given that the mainstream media kept showing that one guy on TV along with the flaming police car.)

I think I have a better understanding of how you feel about the focus on vandalism (what some people call "violence"). When something breaks, it's like an acquired tunnel vision, despite everything else that was happening.

As for the reports of mistreatment of Canadian citizens after being herded into detention cages... the actual issues concerning the protesters, the Internet ran multiple laps past the mainstream media on the track. But hey, it's not as visually-appealing as apocalyptic-looking eye-candy.
