Use the Crisis

We have to use this crisis of neoliberalism to push for sweeping transformations. We should kick the system when it's down in the minds of many. We should get in front of the discussion and argue fearlessly for our causes.

They (the powers that be) have been so wrong, so many times, about everything, that we should no longer worry about accomodating the delusions of those who've bought into the dominant agenda.

A change is needed indeed, but how to achieve one in these times is an immensely hard task. But lets hope for one.

Take care, Lorne

Good morning, all and sundry.

I see one very huge obstruction to changing the way our governments have become the defenders of mega-corporations and their ilk; The same shitheads who helped themselves to massive wealth by gutting the regulations are still in control of the means by which they should be held accountable. Look at how, here in the US, in the midst of near global disgust at how ubiquitous the blind arrogance and greed has become, someone in a position to alter things had the balls to allow unconscionable bonuses to be paid to the criminals themselves. Point to Sen. Chris Dodd who originated the legislation, supposedly to curtail just such extravagance, and he says that "someone in 'committee' inserted the offensive alteration. He would be in a position, I assume, to know who the culprit is, yet all we hear is "not me!".

Anyway, it's good to see this site still up and running.

trog69,

Last night I thought I posted a reply to your comment. But it ain't here.

The long and the short of it was, that even if they create disasters, the masters won't leave until some real physical force makes them leave.
