Canadian Forces Says They'll Investigate Allegations of Canadian Forces' War Crimes

A parliamentary committee has heard stunning allegations from a former translator who claims the Canadian military tried to cover up the fatal shooting of an Afghan man in October 2007.

Responding to the allegations late Wednesday, the chief of defence staff, Gen. Walter Natynczyk, issued a statement saying that the Canadian Forces will investigate the matter "appropriately" but that the military would not be led astray by "innuendo."

Because, you know, when the suffocating blanket of secrecy and lies about "the Mission" (tm.) in Afghanistan gets lifted for even brief moments, we start to see all sorts of filth and disgust. You'll notice as well that every time somebody who was actually in Afghanistan says something about rape, torture, corruption, murder, there's always some shit-head like Rick (Gutless Lying Fuck) Hillier to shriek that these allegations are unfounded. As if CF soldiers, Richard Colvin, and now Ahmadshah Malgarai are all just making shit up for no reason, or because they "hate the troops" or because they're just delusional. FUCK. THAT. SHIT.

Oh, and of course, in situations like this, you can always count on stupid airhead Peter MacKay to yammer insulting garbage ...

The article goes on to have MacKay to blather about how there's no evidence for any of this, with the dullard/asshole pretending his government hasn't made every effort to make sure that no evidence can be seen.

These people are war criminals. The halting progress of this investigation makes me tentatively optimistic that our political system will redeem itself. But if these guys get away with this, then I'll be so disgusted.
