Surprised About the Catholic Church's Avoiding Its Obligations to Residential School Victims?

So, it's like this:

The Canadian government released Catholic groups from an obligation to try to raise $25-million for aboriginal healing so that it could hold the groups to other promises they made in the historic 2007 residential schools agreement, a draft of their agreement reveals.
In return for paying $1.2-million for healing programs, the 50 Catholic entities wanted to be released from any and all of their obligations under the residential schools settlement agreement, government officials told The Globe and Mail. 

But what are we to expect? This institution is infamous for its enabling of pedophiles and for avoiding real accountability for that.

Why should we expect any different from them on any other topic?

Criminal scum. Enabled by criminal scum.

And people still trot out every Sunday to obtain moral instruction from them.

harpercon MP Rick Norlock finishes his questioning by asking RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson a question about information sharing between his agency and Citizenship and Immigration:

    For my next question, Commissioner Paulson can comment. On Friday we heard Commissioner Paulson, who came before the committee, and we viewed the tape, of course, of the murderer of Corporal Nathan Cirillo. During the question and answer period, he indicated that he was able to receive passport information and that in this particular case the information sharing was sufficient.

    Could you tell us through which mechanism that would have occurred and some of the gaps that this legislation closes with regard to information sharing?

Commr Bob Paulson (Commissioner, Royal Canadian Mounted Police):

    Mr. Chair, going back to Friday, I would want to claim the discussion on that was around Mr. Garrison's suggestion that the collection of evidence that would have led to this imaginary charge that I put forward in my comments around had Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau not been killed, we would have charged him, was in the post-event collection of information and not in the real exchange of information. Once the act took place, of course, everybody was happy to share information and the information was flowing rather well. I think that, hopefully, clarifies. 

It doesn't clarify for me how Citizenship & Immigration is already able to deny passports to people seeking to join the fundamentalist rebels in Syria at the present without this legislation.

But I did realize that our federal police service is run by a guy named Bob (Robert) Paulson. That's kind of a hoot.

Newspapers Routinely Slander Politicians ...

In Right-Wing-World it is simply a given that a newspaper with a vendetta against a hero of the people will invent scandalous accusations, of, say, the Mayor of Toronto smoking crack cocaine with gangsters, just to pick on him and be mean and try to destroy him to protect their union-buddies and the whole tax and spend agenda.

Yes sirreee. Happens all the time. Are you surprised? Nothing those lefties do can surprise me anymore.

Oh my god. Is anyone going to be able to stop these absolute cretins???? Would anything ever convince these shit-for-brains that their heroes are all idiots and scumbags?

Attack Ad Against Justin Trudeau

I'm really unhappy about Justin Trudeau. Seems to me that he's what stands between the bankrupt Liberal Party of Canada (a "vision" for Canada that appears to be some incoherent mish-mash of corporate inhumanity and vaguely progressive rhetoric) and its eventual demise. With his name and his looks he'll kindle enough interest to help spoil the NDP's chances of reducing the harpercons to a minority.

Regardless of all that (and not that I have any high hopes for the NDP under Mulcair) I find those harpercon attack ads against Trudeau to be sickening. I'm tired of these asinine attack ads. The fact that it's the fourth in a series of these garbage-brained nuggets of stupidity is what really gets to me. Dion, Ignatieff, Mulcair, and now Trudeau. This sort of crapola is not what political debate is supposed to be about. It appears to be all that the "conservatives" are capable of though. This is the party of KKKate Makkkmillan, Kady Shittle, Rob Anders, David Sweet and John Baird after all.

I have it on good authority though, that Justin Trudeau is a very good looking man. Running ads featuring his handsome face and of him disrobing (both taken from his participation in worthy causes) is probably going to have the opposite effect that the harpercon brain trust is hoping for.

But this lil' post is about the fact that if you go to the youtube video of the ad put up by the harpercon party of Canada, you'll see that the gutless pricks have disabled comments for it. Probably because they know they're a hated vile crew of scum whom the vast majority of Canadians would like to see reduced to living naked in the woods or imprisoned for the rest of their lives.

Three Shit Songs

I was on the road today, and I didn't finish the post I started this morning, so to keep my posting level up, I've decided to quickly blog about three songs that have re-intruded upon my consciousness in the past week. I first encountered these horrid tunes when I worked at a textile plant. The ladies on the second floor liked to listen to Hamilton's "K-Y FM" which played what is evidently known as "Easy Rock." This term includes sickeningly saccharine, corporate love pablum. These tunes were playing constantly for months at a time and I do not possess the ability to tune things out. While I was pushing a bin full of oven-mitts or table-cloths around, I'd be hearing every bloody word of all the stupid lyrics of all these crappy tunes. (This is probably why I'm so angry all the time. One reason anyway. And my inability to tune things out is also an inability to forget about the glaring hypocrisy and abominable ignorance and crude lies of the right-wing. Which is why I despise them so.)
