The Important Stuff That Happened in Toronto

No. Not the rocks through the windows and the car that the cops left out for the "Black Bloc" and the media photographers.

Here's Naomi Klein from CommonDreams on the hideous austerity package planned for us and the cowardly failure to tax the insane world banking system:
My city feels like a crime scene and the criminals are all melting into the night, fleeing the scene. No, I’m not talking about the kids in black who smashed windows and burned cop cars on Saturday.

I’m talking about the heads of state who, on Sunday night, smashed social safety nets and burned good jobs in the middle of a recession. Faced with the effects of a crisis created by the world's wealthiest and most privileged strata, they decided to stick the poorest and most vulnerable people in their countries with the bill.

And here's the Canadian Civil Liberties Association's response to the authoritarian actions of our supposedly democratic government:
Reporters arrested, CCLA civil rights monitors arrested, over 500 people in detention, police unwilling to provide access to lawyers, cellphones seized, what is going on? Police will say that 4 to 7 police cars were set on fire and that there was much looting and spray painting, pop cans and rocks were thrown and more vandalism was planned at the fence or elsewhere. Is the policing proportionate to the threat?
Public Works Act indeed. Fuck you McGuinty, you loathsome piece of shit.

McGuinty has morphed into Harris. And Harper is Stalin.

It's a pretty sweet deal. The conservatives/republicans are the batshit crazy abusers and then the liberals/democrats pretend to give a shit about us.

And the majority of people fall for it like chumps.
