Ford Orders Province's Workers Back To Offices But Has No Spaces For Them

 

Corrupt, gluttonous Doug Ford just didn't like the idea of many of the province's workers continuing to do their jobs remotely, from home.  Just because it didn't negatively impact productivity and some reports said it was more efficient as well as better for the workers' mental health was no reason to carry on with the policy (first adopted in response to the COVID pandemic).  No.  "Work" is performed in a "workplace" under the direct supervision of a BOSS.  That's just the way that things are.  So back to the office they had to go.

Except, fat, lazy, stupid, corrupt Doug Ford didn't bother to rent the space for his workers to go to:

Premier Doug Ford’s government says it has not signed any new leases or purchased real estate to accommodate 60,000 public sector workers ordered to return to the office five days a week, as unions representing the civil servants say they're facing a serious space crunch.

The government statement to CBC News comes nearly two months after Ontario’s return to office mandate deadline passed. It has also raised the ire of the unions representing thousands of public servants who they say their members are struggling to work in cramped buildings that don't have adequate space.

The head of AMAPCEO, which represents some 17,000 professional, administrative and supervisory employees in the Ontario Public Service, says in many instances, workers are sharing desks with colleagues, crowding into shared common areas to work, or are being sent home altogether by managers because there isn’t space.

It's a grand thing being a "conservative" politician.  You stupidly claim that the government, or the public sector, or the state is simultaneously hopelessly incompetent as well as terrifyingly evil and oppressive (the public sector can't deliver anything as efficiently as the profit-driven private sector but it can operate an Orwellian surveillance-police state with incredible finesse) and so it is the people's enemy.

When your budget cuts and incompetence and sabotage destroy the public sector's capabilities, then that's a prophecy fulfilled.  

In this case, this is bloated Doug Ford's own stupidity and laziness.  He got a thrill out of exercising arbitrary power but he didn't think of even the short-term consequences.  But, again, it's all good, because if it pisses of the workers he gets a sadistic thrill.  If efficiency declines because workers who spent an hour getting to work have to spend more time commuting because they were sent home, then that's attributed to the public sector's inefficiency.

Regardless, stinking, shit-assed, hypocrite and scum-bag Doug Ford has gone on to criticize young Ontarians' education choices (as a college drop-out who went to work for his daddy) and see if there are other public properties like Ontario Place or the Ontario Science Centre that he can shutdown, destroy, and turn the assets over to his fellow oligarchic scum.
