This, my friend, is from the 1969 Madison Square Garden concert--one of the last shows on the Stones' 1969 North American tour. Shortly thereafter, they gave a free concert at Altamont--where shit got heavy (as the kids used to say).
This December will mark the 40th anniversary of that fiasco, by the way. Methinks I shall dust off my copy of Gimme Shelter in honour of it.
Oh yeah. I didn't even stop to think about the date.
